Phillipa Fitness Question #57 – What is Plogging?
Hey guys it’s Phillipa here from Fit Futures and recently I was asked what is plogging and spelt P-L-O-G-G-I-N-G.
it’s a Swedish fitness trend that started a few years ago. Basically the idea is that you just pick up trash while you’re out on your run and there’s a couple of great benefits to this;
Firstly, you get the endorphin rush from the exercise as well as doing something good for the planet and;
Secondly, it can gamify you run. How much trash can pick up over this 10 kilometre run. It also connects you to your community. On a stormy day if a lot of trash is flowing onto the beach where I live, you’ll see the majority of people who are out on their morning runs or walk
