Phillipa Fitness Question #56 – What is a Pistol Squat?
Hey team it’s Phillipa, here from Fit Futures.
The pistol squat is a pretty advanced exercise and if you’re not quite there yet, I’ve got a few ways. So you can break it down to make it a little bit easier.
The first way is to do a one footed squat. Just sit on a box, so lifting one leg up, sitting down and then standing back up.
The next one that you can do is standing on a box with one foot off the edge. This means you don’t have to use quite so much of a hip flexor of your hip flexor muscle. So squatting down and coming back up.
The next one is during your pistol squat holding on something. So you can either use the TRX or a stick, or even just the wall. Today I’m go
